The Kendriya Vidyalayas are run by the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, an autonomous  body formed by the Ministry of Education, (H.R.D.) Govt. of India, New Delhi.

CENTRAL GOVT. Employees have been immensely benefited by the scheme of KVS   as their children get priority in admissions. it excels in all fields and fulfills all the parameters of education.

KVS WAS ESTABLISHED INITIALLY AS CENTRAL SCHOOLS ORGANISATION As THE result of the recommendations of the second Pay Commission. They Primarily cater to the educational needs of the children of Central Govt. Employees including Defence Personnel and floating population liable to frequent transfers throughout the country. Needless to say, therefore they have common syllabus and are affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi.

Kendriya Vidyalaya OKHA made a beautiful beginning in the year 1984.

KENDRIYA VIDYALAYA, OKHA PORT IS IN THE DEFENCE SECTOR(NAVY) AND IS ATTACHED TO INS DWARKA. IT IS ONE OF THE PRESTIGIOUS SCHOOLS OF THE AHMEDABAD REGION. THE VIDYALAYA ENJOYS THE PROXIMITY OF THE DWARKADHISH TEMPLE AND SHREE SHARADAPEETHAM AT DWARKA WHICH IS SITUATED ONLY 30 KMS AWAY. IT ALSO RELISHES THE FLOATING BEAUTY OF THE WAVES OF THE EVER ALIVE ARABIAN SEA.

Vidyalaya is located aprrox. 500kms away from ahmedabad and enjoys train route to various parts of the country viz. rameshwar, gorakhpur, varanasi, dehradun, ernakulum, mumbai  etc.

To pursue excellence and set the pace in the field of school education IN collaboration with other bodies like the central board of secondary education (CBSE) and the national council of educational research and training (NCERT), etc., THE KVS IS LEAVING NO STONE UNTURNED.

 Today with 210 students and  about 23 members of staff, the institution has become the  trend-setter with teaching - learning methods.

KVS has a four fold mission viz:-  To cater to the educational needs of children of transferable Central Government employees including defence and para military personnel by providing a common programme of education. To pursue excellence and set the pace in the field of school education. To initiate and promote experimentations and innovations in education in collaboration with other bodies like CBSE, NCERT, etc. To develop the spirit of national integration and create a sense of “Indianness” among children.
